The plane tree’s trunk is 14 meters in diameter, while the opening of its branches cannot be determined precisely, but it covers almost the entire square making a huge umbrella that creates shade.
In the past, the church bells were supported on one of its branches, but due to the weight they could not withstand and now they are supported on a marble pillar. Drink your coffee and eat a baked sweet under the plane tree in the square’s traditional cafe.
Pelion has the following advantage. At the feet of the mountain, near the sea, you will feel what summer means, but as you climb the mountain you will notice a cool breeze blowing on your face.
Up on the mountain, you will never feel the heat and scorching climate of summer, nor will you wake up in the middle of the night with sweat. Instead, you will also need to cover yourself with an extra sheet.
